The Chinese and British filmmakers who are jointly producing the film ¡° The White Countess¡± once again turned the Peace Hall of Peace Hotel into a film studio. James Ivory , a famous British film director who directs this film ¡° the White Countess¡± on the basis of a scenario written by a Japanese writer Ishi Guro who has never been to Shanghai and wrote this scenario featuring Shanghai out of his imagination of the ins and outs of the old city. The Peace Hall, with her peculiar classic architectural charms, has become again the film-shooting site that features the vast foreign-influenced old Shanghai .
